ARKPvP Balance Mod Issues/Bugs Posted by: Cookie - 11-22-2015, 05:27 AM - Forum: Help Requests - No Replies

Hello!

We're currently working to iron out the last remaining bugs in the IT Mod (Balanced) - here are the known issues:

  1. Slingshot not accepting stackable stones
  2. Grill not place-able after being picked up
  3. Cooking Pot destroyed when put in quick slots
We'll have a patch fix for these issues by the end of this weekend

Any other issues/bugs you find with our mod please post in this thread. Thanks for your help!

Mod Ideas. Posted by: Aida - 11-21-2015, 11:05 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Downloading the ARK Dev Kit while typing this post.

Not sure how extensive the Dev Kit is, by the 37GB download it is I'm assuming its pretty good. Until I dive in and see exactly what can be manipulated I would like stick to visual assets (walls, foundations, etc). Prefer to avoid any scripted events until I am more familiar with the Dev Kit (so maybe a week or so).

If anyone has any neat ideas for assets or more script sided mods, be sure to post them here! Maybe we can have some really cool ARK-PvP specific mods.     ;D

Quetzal Platform Saddle Rule Posted by: GG/DR - 11-21-2015, 12:22 PM - Forum: General - Replies (19)

Hey guys - since we've decided to keep Quetzals Platform Saddles in - I'm looking to get your thoughts on our new rule

No Turrets or structures blocking turret damage/rider pickup on Quetzals Platform Saddles

We've received a lot of feedback and players seem split on the 'rider pickup' portion of the rule  - what do you guys think?

So, just thought I would start a thread for people to just converse in.

What's everyone's varying experince with ARK? Myself I only have about 500-550 hours in ARK. I did run my own server for a time which is a BIG pain in the ass...  Not nearly as large as this one, but averaged around 20-30 players. BTW Big props to DR for putting up with all the shit we throw at him on the daily...

Myself I enjoy the more mundane aspects of the game such as building / taming etc. I do engage in PVP from time to time to spice things up; howerver, it is not my primary interest.

How about you guys?

ARK-PvP.com Server Question Posted by: ZestyZesko - 11-20-2015, 10:46 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

I'm trying to host a LAN server, I have been able to edit most of the stuff I would like to add in the server, but I can't seem to edit the gather rate. I have edit the GameUserSettings.ini and every time I lunch it, it seems to have not changed. Using the following:
ResourcesRespawnPeriodMultiplier=x.x
HarvestAmountMultiplier=x.x
HarvestHealthMultiplier=x.x

Do I need to change the order or am I just missing something all together? I'm asking on here cause you have successfully manage to change the rate while I have not.

v224 Patch Preview Posted by: GG/DR - 11-20-2015, 07:20 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Patch Notes Official

Upcoming Version: v225
- New Creature: Oviraptor! Gotta get those eggs! (Needed more polishing time)
- New Structure: Industrial Forge
- ARK: Turkey Trial (Limited Time Event)
- Massively improved game loading & streaming times (reducing hitches) by using "seek free" packages. Also a Garbage Collector improvement to reduce game stalls/hitches (GC no longer forces an async flush which would result in a stall if any streaming operation was occuring).
- ~15% client-side CPU optimization! (added Multi-threaded Animation & optimized client movement codepath)
[MORE NOTES TO COME]

From the Oviraptor Gamepedia: [Image: mpc-hc64%202015-11-20%2011-15-47-88.png]

Quote:
  • Wild: Oviraptor philodator is a small-to-medium sized carnivore, common in the jungles and beaches of the island. Despite being a carnivore, Oviraptor's primary source of food is eggs, which it steals from nests. Unlike any other creature, Oviraptor seems to be able to surreptitiously steal these eggs usually without attracting the attention of the irate mother.
  • Domesticated: Too small to fight or ride, Oviraptor is still one of the more commonly tamed creatures on the island. Its pheromone release ensures an increased stream of eggs from nearby mated wild creatures, for breeding, eating, or cooking kibble. And Oviraptor will autonomously do the dirty work of collecting them on your behalf without attracting unwanted attention. They also make quite adorable sounds, so many children simply like to keep them as rather strange companions.
  • Known Information: In an incredible feat of natural selection, Oviraptor seems to emit a chemical pheromone that affects many creatures as an aphrodisiac. Mated creatures are much more likely to... "create" new eggs while Oviraptor is around, which allows the oviraptor to go about its business unperturbed.

From the Copsognathus Gamepedia:

Quote:
  • Wild: One of the smallest predators on the island, Compognathus curiosicarius can be seen as a pet, a pest or a threat. While alone, Compsognathus is not dangerous or aggressive. In larger packs, however, it remembers its carnivorous nature. After a group of Compsognathus grows to a certain size, their pack mentality always seems to embolden them to "attack".
  • Domesticated: Compsognathus's can be tamed quite easily, so some tribes keep them for little more than friendly companionship. However they gain increasing significant attack power and speed when close proximity to other Compsognathus, as their pack aggression takes over their behavior. Additionally their distress call carries quite far, rapidly alerting the tribe and its pets to danger more efficiently, and increasing the likelihood of forming a so called 'Compy Gang'.
  • Known Information: For some reason Compsognathus is not naturally afraid of humans. Rather it seems to be quite curious of humans and their instruments of survival. They tend to be drawn toward humans out of this curiosity, and then call their pack mates to help explore their discovery. This usually leads to the aforementioned pack aggression.

The Anti-S.H.I.E.L.D. Campaign Posted by: Aida - 11-17-2015, 11:33 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

S.H.I.E.L.D's power-by-numbers plays are wearing other tribes thin. The majority of tribes are simply tired of their inability to properly gather much needed resources. Solo players are sick of having their bases raided by shear numbers, unable to properly defend themselves. With reports of griefing, blocking passages, and even offline raiding bases, S.H.I.E.L.D. has become a relentless force fueled by ignorance. Some tribes even fear S.H.I.E.L.D. Why you might ask? Simply because S.H.I.E.L.D. have numbers while most other tribes do not.

This is where we come in. Anti-S.H.I.E.L.D. is committed to taking down the beast that is S.H.I.E.L.D. Applications are open to all, even a spy or two. Wink

You have 400 hours play time? That's cool, join.
You bought the game 20 minutes ago? That's cool as well, join.

Private alliances are also welcomed. If your tribe wishes to join the Anti-S.H.I.E.L.D. Campaign then by all means do so. Your tribe will never be disclosed to anyone if you choose to remain a private ally.

Rules of Engagement:

1) Never break ARK-PvP rules. Which include:
No Blocking Access or Building Turrets at Spawns Points, Land Caves or Tops of Obelisks/Volcano
    No Foundation Blocking Resource Spawns
    No Building Turrets on Quetzals
    No Griefing/Harassment*
*admin discretion - includes harassing fresh spawns, chat spam/bigotry, being harmful to the community in general.
2) Never attack any other tribes unless attacked by said tribe first.
3) Never disclose private alliance relations.
4) Never spout ignorance via chat (profanity etc.)
5) Never admit defeat.
    Frankly, we will not lose
